Order of Exercises

Students, your time at WVU has shaped the foundation you carry into the future - personally, professionally and societally. There are lessons and values gained from each separate experience, but we hope you gained the foundation of kindness, fairness, connectedness, passion and purpose.

As we gather today to celebrate your commencement, I'd like to give you one final assignment: reflect on the past, be open to the possibilities of the future, and live in the present.

Times of significant change can be both exciting and result in uneasiness or fear. I encourage you to trust in yourself and let go of resistance. Let your life unfold into the great adventure we each call our life.

Remember that your light is a powerful tool as you set out on that adventure. Call on the skills you’ve honed, the mentors you’ve worked with, and the friends you’ve made, and shine your light. Embrace the next phase of your life and serve as a support and guiding force in the lives of others. Be an active and engaged member of your community as you continue on your Mountaineer journey.

Remember, an ending is only the start of a new beginning.

Go forth and be the good you hope to see in this world.

Congratulations, Class of 2025.
