Dear Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Graduates,

Congratulations! Today is a milestone you will remember for the rest of your life. Whether you are earning a bachelor’s degree or completing a graduate program, your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have led you to this incredible achievement. The entire Eberly College community and I are immensely proud of you, and we celebrate this moment with you.

You began this journey with a desire to grow, to learn, to experience new things, and to prepare for your future. Along the way, you’ve faced challenges, pushed boundaries, and embraced opportunities that have shaped who you are today. If you haven’t already, take a moment to reflect on what it took to get here. Be proud of yourself — just as we are proud of you.

While today is a time to celebrate, it is also a stepping stone to what comes next. Some of you will enter the workforce, others will pursue further education, and many of you will embark on new and unknown paths into your next chapter. No matter where life takes you, carry forward the knowledge, skills, and values you have gained here at WVU. The world needs compassionate, intellectually curious people who can think critically, solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and inspire others. It needs people like you.

As you move forward, remember that education is a lifelong journey. Keep learning, keep questioning, and keep striving to make a difference. Use your knowledge to uplift those around you — friends, family, colleagues, and your broader community. Not everyone has had the opportunities you’ve had, and with this privilege comes responsibility.

Today is a day of joy and pride, but it’s also a moment of gratitude. Take time to acknowledge the faculty, mentors, family, and friends who have supported you along the way. Their encouragement and belief in you have helped make this moment possible.
