Congratulations from the Alumni Association

Congratulations, Mountaineer graduates!

Welcome to our family of West Virginia University alumni and welcome to your first year as a member of the WVU Alumni Association! Graduation marks a big moment in your Mountaineer journey. As a West Virginia University alum, you will experience many more exciting moments as you explore your purpose and carve your path; and your alma mater will always be with you to celebrate those milestones, big and small.

To facilitate your enduring connection with West Virginia University, we are delighted to offer you a complimentary year of membership in the WVU Alumni Association as a graduation gift. For 150 years, our association has been a cornerstone of support for WVU graduates, providing invaluable resources and fostering meaningful connections. I urge you to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities, resources, networks and communications we provide to deepen your bond with WVU throughout your journey.

Our alumni network is resilient, strengthened by the collective passion and dedication of generations of Mountaineers past and present. Just as those who came before you have extended their hands in assistance, I encourage you to do the same. Here are a few examples of how you can use your time and talent to show your Mountaineer pride:

  • Proudly wear your favorite old gold and blue, so all will know you are a Mountaineer. Whether you stay close to Morgantown or relocate to a new city, state or country, I encourage you to join your local alumni association chapter to stay connected. Find your local chapter at alumni.wvu.edu

  • Serve as a mentor through the Purpose Center or Project 168 and offer advice to students who might be interested in learning more about your passions and purpose, campus involvement, research or career path.

  • Return to Morgantown whenever your path allows. Reunite with friends during Homecoming, stroll through campus and engage with your professors. Stay up to date with WVU’s latest developments and consider participating on a panel or a class presentation.

As you embark on the next chapter, take a moment to reflect on your time here with a profound sense of pride and accomplishment. Wherever your country roads may lead you next, rest assured you’ll find fellow Mountaineers who will make any place feel like home.

On behalf of a vibrant community of more than 200,000 living WVU graduates, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on this significant achievement. I look forward to helping you stay connected with our alma mater.

In Mountaineer spirit,
