Dear School of Nursing graduates,
Commencement marks a significant milestone in your academic and professional journey. Completing nursing school is no small feat, but you have clearly demonstrated that you have the knowledge, the skills and the dedication needed to excel.
As Maya Angelou reminds us, “If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded.” By choosing nursing, you have done precisely that. You have been called to a career centered on caring for others.
I hope that the WVU School of Nursing has impressed upon you the importance of lifelong learning, the impact of community outreach and the ability of nurses to truly touch lives.
