Maps and Parking

Maps

Parking is available at the Coliseum and Creative Arts Center. In the event that the lots become full, you will be directed to overflow parking in Short Term Lots 1 and 9, and Areas 51 and 56. There will be parking staff, and University Police officers stationed to help get you where you need to go.

Shuttles will make a continuous loop from the Coliseum, to the Creative Arts Center, then onto Fine Arts Drive which passes by the overflow lots on the way to Morrill Way and back out onto Patteson Drive to the Coliseum. On Sunday only, if the Coliseum lot is full, guests will be directed to the Creative Arts Center lot first until full and and then to the lots beyond.

SPECIAL NOTE: For those attending the School of Medicine Professional Program ceremony, please plan on parking in the Creative Arts center or overflow parking areas as those attending the Eberly ceremony may not have cleared the Coliseum parking lot at the time you will be arriving. This does NOT include VIPs, Deans, and speakers for the ceremony who will be permitted to park in the VIP lot at the Coliseum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need tickets?

For December and May commencement, family and guests of a graduate do not need tickets. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.

Where do I register and check in?

For December graduation graduates must report to the Coliseum's 2nd level Country Roads Gate one hour before the ceremony to check-in and receive instructions for line-up.

For May graduation details on check in will be announced based on your college's assigned date, time, and location of graduation. Please visit the May Ceremony page for the date, time, and location of your graduation ceremony.

What is the appropriate graduation attire?

All graduates must wear academic regalia (cap and gown). The only substitution for the cap and gown is military dress.

Official WVU regalia is available at the two WVUBookstore locations and online at Herff Jones. Please purchase all caps, gowns, tassels, and hoods prior to Commencement. No regalia will be sold at the venue.
